How benefits
Utilizing Flow Motion Technology® with the R1 brings game-changing dynamic pitch into the game. By adding this chassis rocker you get the superior benefits in speed, agility, and control you need to excel in your game.
Here we go into depth of how these bold claims are backed up by science.
Understanding pitch angles
You wouldn't compromise on the fit of your boot or the quality of your wheels. Yet the design of the chassis, and more specifically the pitch, doesn't get the attention it deserves. It has an immense impact on your skating.
In any given situation it will affect your speed, your ability to generate power, and how well you can maintain good grip.
The pitch is the angle measured between the line from heel to the toe and the floor, and indicates the forward angle.
Different pitch angles will get you benefits in different situations. A neutral pitch will be beneficial in the first phase of a stride – the load phase – and in a turn. An aggressive pitch, on the other hand, will be beneficial in the push-off phase of a stride.
A traditional chassis, with a fixed pitch, will naturally always need to be compromised. It forces you to choose between getting benefits at different parts of the stride.
The R1 chassis on the other hand, utilizing Flow Motion Technology, gives you a dynamic pitch. This allows you to get the benefits of both aggressive and neutral pitched chassis – improving your balance while maximizing your power and speed, without compromises.
Optimizing grip & balance
The long flat wheel base, the stiff skate boots. This combination makes it challenging for you to achieve a natural ankle motion while keeping the wheels on the floor.
This negatively impacts your ability to get good grip. It also makes it harder to react and adjust your body position quickly, staying balanced.
Flow Motion Technology adds another dimension of motion to give you that natural ankle movement back. This enables the wheels and the foot to move in relation to each other with a smooth rolling motion.
The Marsblade R1 allows you to get a more stable support, better balance, and grip in all situations.
Superior speed
Getting that smooth and efficient glide; turning sharp while maintaining your speed out of the turn – it's a challenge for most players. You often see yourself quickly ending up with most pressure on the front, or rear wheel. In turn, increasing the wheels rolling resistance, and slowing down your speed.
The R1 adds a dynamic pivot point between the wheels and the boot, enabling a more efficient weight distribution between the wheels.
This prevents you from ending up on your front wheel too quick when pushing off. And, helps you to stay away from the rear wheel in turns.
Always optimizing the wheels connection to the floor.
Increasing speed while maximizing efficiency and conserving energy.
That's what the Marsblade R1 will do for you.
Boost power & acceleration
A key to maximize power and accelerate fast is letting the ankle work through a large range of motion (ROM) while the wheels stay in contact with the floor.
The pitch of a traditional chassis will always need to be a compromised between ideals at each given moment of a stride. Therefore, it won't allow you to generate power to the extent possible.
With the dynamic pitch of the R1 chassis and Flow Motion Technology there's however no need to compromise.
The technology allows you to get the benefits of a span of pitch angles, neutral and aggressive. Letting you maximize ankle ROM while the wheels stay on the floor to increase support power transfer.
The neutral pitch ability of the R1 is beneficial in turns and in the early part, the load phase, of the stride. Letting you get in a skating position with that important deep knee bend and proper ankle flexion.
The aggressive pitch ability of the R1 is beneficial in the push-off, allowing you to keep good support of the wheels on the floor, while finishing the stride with a full leg extension.
Flow Motion Technology unlocks a wide range of pitch angles. In doing this, it provides you with the best option at any given time, to maximize power in your stride.
